Problems to Avoid & Steps to Take.

  • DO NOT sign the document or documents ahead of time. The documents must be signed in the presence of the notary. If the documents to be signed are part of a loan package, it is best not even to open it until the notary arrives!
  • All signers must have proper photo identification to present to the Notary. Notaries are not lawyers. The notary is strictly forbidden by law to give any advice regarding your documents.

Things Needed

  • The documents that need to be notarized;
  • Each signer's picture identification documents, such as
    A driver's license must be issued within the last 5 years by any USA state, Canada, or Mexico.
  • A Passport, issued by the United States government or a foreign government with photo and a United States Visa attached;
  • A USA armed forces ID.
  • Bring cash, cashier’s check, or a money order to pay the notary fees.

 

Documentation needs to be Complete

  • At the time of notarization, all documents to be notarized must contain no blanks or incomplete fields. The entire document must be completed, but not signed. Further, all document pages to be notarized must be available at the time the documents are to be signed.
  • A notary public may not accept any acknowledgment or proof of any instrument that is incomplete.
Payment Methods
We accept cash, cashier's checks, money orders, or PayPal.
Cancellation

Appointments can be cancelled without penalty within 1 hour of the appointment time. If an appointment is made and the signer does not appear, decides the services are not needed, or for any other reason fails to complete the business at hand, the travel charge described herein will apply plus a non-cancellation charge of $25.00.


Signer's must personally appear and sign in the presence of the notary..

Notarial Fees and Waiver of Notarial Fees

Maximum Amount of Notary Fees Permitted to be Charged — ORS

194.160(1) 160-100-0400

A notary public shall not charge, attempt to charge, or receive a notary fee That is more than:

(1) $5 for taking an acknowledgment;

(2) $5 for taking verification upon an oath or affirmation;

(3) $5 for certifying a copy of a document;

(4) $5 for witnessing or attesting a signature;

(5) $5 for protesting commercial paper, except a check drawn on an Insolvent financial institution in which case the fee is $0;

(6) $1 for administering an oath or affirmation without a signature;

(7) $1 for taking a deposition, each page;

(8) $1 for all other notarial acts not specified in this rule.
